Operation Silent Storm

Location: Syria
Year: 2002 (Modern Era)

General Context:

In 2002, a devastating nuclear attack struck a European capital, causing hundreds of thousands of casualties. Investigations revealed that the warhead had been acquired and assembled by a terrorist cell operating from Syrian territory under the protection of local factions.

With concrete evidence in hand, NATO demanded the extradition of those responsible and access to Syrian territory to dismantle the terrorist operations. The Syrian government rejected the demands, accusing NATO of fabricating evidence as a pretext for invasion. With diplomatic options exhausted, NATO launched a military operation to track down the cell and prevent another catastrophe.

The invasion, however, escalated into open warfare between NATO and Syrian forces, which were bolstered by military support from allied nations, including Iran and Russia. Iran deployed its air force to Syria, providing direct support to the country’s defense while supplying advanced weapon systems, military advisors, and logistical aid.

Mission 1

June 3rd 2002

Objective: SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses)
Aircraft: F/A-18, F-16, Harrier

Mission Briefing:

To ensure a successful invasion and the safety of our ground troops, achieving air superiority is crucial. Our ground forces depend directly on our support, and to provide that, we need to neutralize or at least suppress enemy air defenses.

Today's mission marks the first step in this process: suppressing air defenses near the Jordanian border, where our invasion will commence. Follow the designated waypoints to the edge of Jordan, where you'll scan for radar signals from enemy air defenses and neutralize them.

Be cautious not to fly too low—satellite imagery has confirmed the presence of MANPADS and AAA systems in the area. Remember, the primary objective is to eliminate SAM systems exclusively, ensuring our subsequent operations proceed unhindered.

Good luck.

4 SA-11 are spread around Tha'lah airbase

Remarks: CAP support is available by opening the F10 map, creating a mark at the desired location, and naming it "CAP." Then, access your communications menu, navigate to "Mission," and request CAP support.

Mission 2

June 4th 2002

Objective: Deep Strike
Aircraft: F/A-18, F-16, Harrier, F14, F15E

Mission Briefing:

Satellite imagery has identified four Iranian F-14s parked in two reinforced bunker hangars at Tha'lah Airbase, Syria. These assets pose a significant threat to our operations, and their destruction is critical. Due to the reinforced nature of the hangars, 1000lb bombs will be required to ensure complete destruction of the targets.

Intelligence indicates that two additional F-14s are likely to be on patrol at the time of the strike. Expect potential air-to-air threats in the vicinity. To support your mission, a four-ship flight of F-16s is already en route to intercept and neutralize any airborne threats before they reach your location.

Good luck.

From June 5th to June 9th

In a significant development on the Syrian front, NATO ground forces have successfully crossed the southern border and advanced northward with minimal resistance. This breakthrough comes on the heels of several days of sustained air superiority, which has left opposing forces unable to mount an effective defense.

With the skies firmly under NATO control, ground troops moved rapidly, securing strategic territory with little to no opposition. Close Air Support (CAS) helicopters played a crucial role, operating unchallenged to provide precision strikes and logistical support, further accelerating the advance.

Mission 3

June 10th 2002

Objective: Interception
Aircraft: F/A-18, F-16, F14, F15E, F15C

Mission Briefing:

A cargo plane has been spotted departing from Iranian airspace, escorted by two Iranian MiG-29s, and heading toward Syrian frontlines. Intelligence indicates that additional Iranian F-14s may scramble to reinforce the escort.

Engaging the F-14s is strictly prohibited. You are operating as a two-ship flight, and the risk of being overwhelmed is too high. Your mission is to destroy the cargo plane and its escorts, then RTB immediately.

Intelligence warns that the destination airbase is heavily fortified with anti-air defenses. You must not let the cargo plane reach its destination, or the mission will fail.

Mission Tasks:
Intercept the cargo plane and its escorts.
Eliminate the MiG-29 escorts swiftly to clear a path.
Destroy the cargo plane before it lands into Syrian airbase.
Avoid prolonged engagements with Iranian F-14s; focus on completing the mission.
