Operation Dragon's Anger

Location: Mariana Islands
Year: 2028 (Modern Era)

General Context:

By 2028, tensions in the Pacific had reached a breaking point. After years of military build-up and aggressive territorial expansion, China launched a surprise invasion of the Mariana Islands, seeking to establish a permanent military presence deep in the Western Pacific. This bold move directly challenged U.S. control of the region, threatening critical supply lines and forcing a response from Washington.

The invasion began with a massive missile barrage, crippling key U.S. bases on Guam and neutralizing forward-deployed assets. Under the cover of electronic warfare and cyberattacks, Chinese forces swiftly occupied several islands, constructing airfields, anti-ship missile installations, and radar stations to deny U.S. access to the region. The speed and coordination of the assault left little doubt: this was not an isolated conflict—it was the opening stage of a larger campaign to push U.S. influence out of the Pacific.

Mission 2

September 24th 2028

Objective: Counter Air

Mission Briefing:

Following the success of Operation First Claws, we have gained temporary air superiority. However, enemy air bases remain operational, and reinforcements are being prepared for counterattacks.

Your mission is to conduct a precision airstrike on an enemy airbase, destroying parked aircraft to cripple their air response capabilities. A successful attack will delay enemy reinforcements and give us the upper hand in future raids.

Reconnaissance picture taken minutes before the mission shows four enemy jets parked in the eastern part of the airfield (Red circle). They are your primary targets, and their destruction is essential for mission success.

Two transport planes have also been identified near the fighter jets and are considered targets of opportunity, though they are not critical to the mission's success (Yellow arrow).

The enemy will attempt to launch interceptors from nearby islands, so do not linger at the target for too long.

After weeks of intense air and naval operations, U.S. forces have officially landed on Guam, marking a major turning point in the battle to reclaim the Mariana Islands. U.S. Marines, supported by armored units and close air support from F/A-18 Super Hornets launched from the USS John C. Stennis, have successfully secured the southern part of the island, establishing a foothold for further operations.

Pentagon officials report that the Chinese garrison in the north remains heavily fortified, with entrenched positions and anti-air defenses still active. While initial landings faced resistance, U.S. forces quickly overran enemy positions, forcing a tactical withdrawal toward the island’s interior. Military sources confirm that new offensives will be launched in the coming days to push northward and regain full control of the island.

Mission 3

September 28th 2028

Objective: Ship Interdiction

Situation Overview:

Intel reports that two Chinese freighters are en route from the west, transporting critical military equipment to reinforce enemy forces on the islands. These vessels are currently navigating through an unprotected zone, with no naval escorts or land-based anti-air defenses in range. This presents a rare opportunity to intercept and destroy them before they reach their destination.

However, the window for this strike is limited. Chinese frigates from the northern islands are moving to secure the area and will arrive within minutes. Additionally, enemy aircraft are patrolling the region, posing a serious threat to the strike group.

Mission Objectives:

  1. Navigate around the coastline to avoid known anti-air defenses.

  2. Rendezvous at Waypoint 2 and activate SEA RADAR to locate the two target freighters.

  3. Destroy both ships quickly before enemy reinforcements arrive.

  4. Engage enemy aircraft only if necessary – send your wingman to intercept while you focus on the strike.

  5. RTB before enemy naval assets enter the engagement zone.
